Mobile man arrested in connection to Pleasant Valley Road barber shop shooting: MPD

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — A Mobile man has been arrested in connection to a shooting that injured five people in a barber shop on Pleasant Valley Road, according to the Mobile Police Department.

Jamarcus Lawarren Grayson, 21, was released from the hospital and booked into Mobile Metro Jail Thursday night in reference to the shooting.

Grayson is accused of two first-degree assault charges and two second-degree assault charges. He will appear in court for a bond hearing on Monday, May 13.

Mobile police officers responded to a reported shooting at 3361A Pleasant Valley Road on Saturday, April 27, around 2:30 p.m.

Officers learned two people were arguing inside a business. It escalated when both people fired gunshots, injuring themselves and innocent bystanders.

Two customers inside the business were injured, and one vehicle in the parking lot was struck by gunfire. Another person sitting outside of a neighboring business was also struck, the release said.

The injured were then taken to the hospital and were treated for their non-life-threatening injuries.
