Missed the eclipse? Here’s when the next one passes through Arkansas

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — If you missed out on Monday’s total solar eclipse in Arkansas, you only have to wait 21 years for the next one.

The next total solar eclipse to pass through Arkansas will be on August 12, 2045, according to Time and Date.

The path of totality for the 2045 eclipse will go from Northwest Arkansas through the southeast part of the state, NASA mapping shows.

California, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma, a tiny part of Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia and Florida will also be in the path of totality.

Cities in Arkansas that are in the path near central duration could see as much as six minutes of totality.

  • Fort Smith: 5 minutes and 46 seconds

  • Greenwood: 5 minutes and 48 seconds

  • Booneville: 5 minutes and 48 seconds

  • Little Rock: 5 minutes and 38 seconds

  • Hot Springs Village: 5 minutes and 51 seconds

  • Benton: 5 minutes and 51 seconds

  • Pine Bluff: 5 minutes and 52 seconds

  • Russellville: 5 minutes and 22 seconds

  • Fayetteville: 4 minutes and 15 seconds

  • Arkadelphia: 5 minutes and 6 seconds

  • Monticello: 5 minutes and 21 seconds
