Mint Hill man with serious injuries after teenage relative shot him: Police

MINT HILL, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — One person is suffering serious injuries after being shot by a teenager, according to the Mint Hill Police Department.

Just before midnight on April 16, officers responded to a shooting on Rolling Fields Road.

When they arrived, they saw a 25-year-old man with serious injuries. He was taken to a local medical center where he is still receiving treatment, officials said.

The shooter was identified as a 17-year-old who was not named because of his age.

Police say the victim and the shooter are related to each other, and that this was an isolated domestic incident. A firearm was recovered from the scene.

Authorties say this is an active investigation and criminal charges are pending.
