Minerva's Person of the Year to be honored

Deborah Palmer has been named the 2024 Minerva Person of the Year and will be honored at 6 p.m. May 30 at a dinner at Minerva High School.

The Person of the Year is chosen by Minerva’s service clubs, and the award recognizes a community member for her dedication, volunteer work and service to the community.

Palmer, a Minerva resident for more than 45 years, is a 1991 Minerva High School graduate and has been employed with the Minerva State Farm Insurance office for 23 years. She was a member of the 2021 Leadership Stark County Signature Program.

She has served as a board member and volunteer with the Minerva Community Association, Minerva Homecoming, Minerva Area Chamber of Commerce, Minerva Area YMCA, Minerva Area Christian School AOK, Minerva Elementary PTO, Minerva Person of the Year Committee, Minerva Education Foundation and Alumni Association, Minerva Charter Commission, Minerva Visioning Committee, Minerva Civic Club, Minerva Oktoberfest, Downtown Wonderland Community Christmas Celebration, 2nd Fridays, and the Roxy Theatre.

The dinner will be hosted by Entre Nous, and reservations must be made by May 21 to Trish Bush by calling 330-936-2306. Tickets are $30 per person.
