Minersville man charged with possession of child sexual abuse videos

A Minersville man faces charges after state police said he was found to be in possession of several videos depicting child sexual abuse.

Damy Cintron, 25, of 135 Sunbury St., Apt. 6, was charged Friday by the state police Bureau of Criminal Investigation with five counts of child pornography.

Police said the defendant had 12 video files that were uploaded to Synchronoss, an online cloud service used by Verizon Wireless.

In an affidavit filed in district court, police described two of the videos, which depicted juveniles between the ages of 5 and 7.

Police said they identified Cintron as the user and executed a search warrant at his home.

When questioned by police, the defendant said that he views pornography but does not view child sexual abuse material online.

Police then told the defendant about some of the videos reported in the search warrant, but he said that he was not aware of the videos.

Police said they later found five videos on Cintron’s cellphone depicting child sexual abuse and took the phone to the state police Frackville station to be entered into evidence.

Cintron, in addition to the child pornography charges, faces a felony count of criminal use of a communication facility.

The defendant was arraigned Friday by Magisterial District Judge David J. Rossi, Tremont, and released on $100,000 unsecured bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10:45 a.m. June 20 at Rossi’s office.
