MIlton council OK's phase one of new housing development plan

May 24—MILTON — Milton Borough Council members approved phase one of a land development single-family home plan — Red Hill Estates — along Golf Course Road.

The first phase involves 14 lots; ultimately, the project is planned for 72 single-family lots. Venture Grp is the owner of the property.

Council approved using the borough's 2024 allocation of $123,606 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds for the revitalization of Brown Avenue Park, pending the results of a 2023 survey that will be sent out to residents.

If 51 percent of borough residents are within the low-to-moderate income level, "the funds can be used toward the revitalization of Brown Avenue Park," said Tania Troup, a representative of SEDA-COG.

Council also approved the purchase of a new utility truck for the Milton Fire Department for $74,887, from Blaise Alexander.
