UPDATE: Milford's town election results have been updated. This race was most affected

MILFORD — Milford’s School Committee chair will keep his seat after all, according to updated unofficial results from Tuesday night's annual election.

In one of just three contested races on the ballot, four candidates vied for three School Committee seats. Incumbents Matthew Zacchilli and Meghan Hornberger easily claimed the first two, but Tuesday night's originally posted results indicated that challenger Gregory Allegrezza had edged incumbent Christopher Wilson by 14 votes (1,423-1,409) for the third available seat.

But that report did not include hand-counted votes or write-ins from four precincts, according to Assistant Town Clerk Danielle Petrowski. The four precincts' votes were tabulated the next day, and Wilson ended up winning the third and last remaining seat by 12 votes (1,490-1,478).

Another competitive race was for a three-year term on Milford’s Board of Health. Lorrain Braza received 1,303 votes to earn the seat over fellow newcomers Diana Haynes (1,011 votes) and Charles Skaff (363 votes). The previous holder of the seat, Kenneth Evans, died in November.

Finally, the race for a one-year seat for trustee of Vernon Grove Cemetery went to Paul Boisclair (1,284 votes), who defeated Jason Vaz (900 votes).

What else was on the ballot?

All other races were uncontested.

Incumbent winners include: Paul Mazzuchelli (Select Board), Joshua Lioce (Board of Assessors), Marco Bon Tempo (library trustee), Joseph Arcudi (park commissioner), Joseph Calagione (Planning Board), Rudolph Lioce III (sewer commissioner), Jamie Luchini (water commissioner) and Patrick Holland (Housing Authority).

Newcomers Michael Lenza and Skaff were elected to three-year terms as trustees of Vernon Grove Cemetery. Johnna O'Loughlin was also elected to the Board of Library Trustees.

Many seats were available for Town Meeting member, which represent eight precincts during the town's May 20 Town Meeting. But only 39 of the 80 available three-year terms were filled during Tuesday's election.

The Town Clerk's Office reported that 2,868 ballots were cast in this year's town election, about 16% of Milford's 18,250 registered voters. Last year, turnout was just 9%.

All election results are unofficial until they are certified by the Secretary of the Commonwealth's Office.
