You might be able to stay in the “Fuller House” house now that creator Jeff Franklin bought it
OMG, this is such exciting news! You might actually be able to stay in the Fuller House house now that creator, Jeff Franklin has purchased the place and wants to rent it out. Start saving your money now, because we all know this will be an expensive rental.
Franklin, who created the original series Full House, has officially purchased the San Francisco property according to The Hollywood Reporter. The house is located at 1709 Broderick St. in the Lower Pacific Heights area and sold for a whopping $4.15 million.
“The house came on the market and really, I just thought, I have to buy this house,” Franklin told The Hollywood Reporter during an exclusive phone interview.
“I’m so sentimental about the house. It’s great to have the house in our Full House family and be able to preserve it for the fans. … Seriously, I love owning this house.”
As the new owner of the famous house that millions of fans have sought out while visiting the city over the years, Franklin plans to change the interior — he’s already painted the door back to its original red color — so that it is reminiscent of how the Tanner family actually lived (and lives). Plus, he’s all for having some of the Netflix revival actually film there.
“We would take advantage of the fact that I now own the house, and we could go up there and shoot some new footage and maybe bring the cast up and shoot with them up there,” he said.
Franklin also intends to use the house as a celebration spot for the 30th anniversary of the original series, which first premiered on Sept, 22, 1987.
“That will be around the time that all of my construction will be done so I hope to bring the cast up to the house and have a big slumber party here so people can drive by and actually see the Tanner family living there for one whole day,” Franklin revealed. “That would be pretty fun.”
Since fans wouldn’t be invited to this slumber party anniversary — which sounds pretty amazing we might add — Franklin has another solution for fans’ desire to see inside the Tanner household. He would eventually like to rent it out Airbnb style and we can’t wait.
“It’s a shame to let it sit empty,” he told the publication. “I will be renting it out but I’m not sure yet what, where, when or how. At some point soon I will figure that out.”
Can you even imagine the Full House house on Airbnb!?!?!? While there is no news of when it would be available, or how much it would cost — we’re betting it’s a pretty penny — this news is very exciting.
Until we know more about the Full House house and its rental status, we suggest you start your countdown to new episodes of Fuller House, which premiere on Dec. 7 on Netflix. It’s so soon!
