Hold onto your hearts, royal family fans! Michelle Obama just congratulated Kate Middleton on her new baby with the most adorable message, and we can’t stop gushing. The former first lady shared a super cute throwback photo of Barack Obama at Kensington Palace from 2016, when Prince George was allowed to stay up past his bedtime to meet the president. And almost two years on, the picture of the royal greeting our then-president in his pajamas are still so cute.
In her post today, Michelle included a special message for the Duchess of Cambridge, writing, “Barack and I are thrilled to congratulate The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on their newest arrival! We hope to meet him soon for a Kensington Palace pajama party. I’ll wear my robe!”

Middleton gave birth to her third child, a son, on Monday, April 23rd; she appeared on the steps of the Lindo Wing at St. Mary’s hospital with her husband, Prince William, and the baby just seven hours after giving birth. It’s the same spot where she debuted her first son, Prince George, and her daughter, Princess Charlotte. Prince William stood at her side while she held the baby, whose name is still publicly unknown, in a white shawl, and both proud parents waved for the crowds gathered to send their well wishes.
The royal family rushed to the hospital at 6 a.m. on Monday morning, according to a statement on the Kensington Palace Twitter account. Middleton appeared later that same evening, and both she and the baby are happy and healthy, according to an official announcement. She appeared in a red dress with a white collar as an homage to Princess Diana, who wore a similar look after Prince Harry was born. It was a really sweet tribute, and it will be even more exciting to learn the baby’s name.
