Los Alamos County Councilor Chair Denise Derkacs said there are many other factors as to why White Rock is taking top honors. “We have a very low crime rate, we have excellent schools, these are both things that make it great to raise a family as well as living here,” said Derkacs. Officials also say being the gateway to three national parks also makes White Rock the perfect in-state trip for those who enjoy the great outdoors.

Rounding out the top five on The Travel list of happiest towns include— Sugarcreek, Ohio at number two, Tybee Island, Georgia at number three, followed by New Harmony, Indiana and Eureka Springs, Arkansas.
