Mesa County conducting survey on mental health

MESA COUNTY, Colo. (KREX) — Mesa County is inviting residents to take part in a mental health community assessment survey.

The survey will be used to understand which aspects of mental health services are working and which ones are not.

The county created a similar survey in 2021 which led to the establishment of Grand Valley Connects and Mesa County Department of Behavioral Health.

Grand Valley Connects helps families who have someone experiencing a mental health crisis, and the Mesa County Department of Behavioral Health helps those getting out of jail with any mental health concerns.

Mesa County Commissioner Janet Rowland breaks down what the county is doing this year.

“What we’re doing now is taking a look now and seeing what is it that needs to be addressed currently. What has improved, what still needs more improvement. What’s something new that’s popped up that wasn’t even an issue three years ago, but now it’s something people think we should take a look at. So, we really just want to hear folks. What their experience has been in trying to access mental health services in Mesa County.”

Survey responses are completely anonymous. If you would like to participate in the survey, click here.
