Memorial Day service set for Monday in Jacksonville

May 25—A Memorial Day service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, May 27 in Hazel Tilton Park, 174 E. Larissa St., near the war memorial.

The event, organized by the Marine Corps League Detachment #1381, will honor all fallen military personnel.

Expected to last about an hour, the service will feature Jacksonville Mayor Randy Gorham and Sen. Robert Nichols as speakers. The Marine Corps League will provide the color guard and the playing of Taps.

The public is invited to attend the Memorial Day service which will honor all military personnel who died in service to their country.
