DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — With Memorial Day right around the corner, it’s important to know where to go to honor the fallen.

Houston County:

  • The 18th Wiregrass Memorial Day Ceremony at Sunset Memorial Park-

    • Monday, May 27, 10:00 a.m.

    • Features guest speaker, retired Navy Captain Jenn Donahue, PhD

    • Mayor Mark Saliba will serve as the master of ceremonies

    • Includes patriotic music, cannon firing detail, and taps, plus a flower-laying ceremony, Army Aviation flyover, and picnic lunch

  • Post-Game Fireworks at Rip Hewes Stadium-

    • Saturday, May 25, directly after the Dothan United Soccer game

    • Includes fireworks

COFFEE COUNTY:

  • Memorial Day Wreath Laying Ceremony at Johnny Henderson Park-

    • Monday, May 27, at 8:00 a.m. at the Johnny Henderson Park Wall of Freedom

    • Includes wreath-laying ceremony, proclamation, and special guests

    • Following the ceremony, at 10:00 a.m., the Veterans Service Organizations will place 1500 plus flags at the gravesites of deceased Veterans at the Meadowlawn Memorial Park

  • Memorial Day Ceremony at the Daleville Cultural and Convention Center-

    • Monday, May 27th at 10:00 a.m.

    • Flags will be given to those in attendance
