From Town & Country

The Duchess of Sussex stunned in a sequin Roland Mouret gown this evening at the premiere of Cirque du Soleil's newest show, Totem. But the most significant part of Meghan's outfit wasn't the glamorous gown-instead, it was a poignant piece of jewelry.

As eagle eyed royal fans (like Meghan's Mirror) first noticed on Twitter, Meghan paired her dress with a gold bracelet that once belonged to Princess Diana. Diana wore the bracelet on a number of occasions, including to an event in 1994:

This isn't the first time the Duchess has paid tribute to her late mother-in-law with her jewelry choices. During her royal tour of Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, and the Kingdom of Tonga, Meghan wore the same bracelet she's wearing tonight and a pair of Diana's butterfly earrings to an event.

The Duchess also wore one of Diana's most striking pieces on her wedding day: a gorgeous aquamarine cocktail ring that Diana famously wore in 1997.

Of course, Meghan isn't the only royal who wears pieces from Diana's jewelry collection. Prince William proposed to Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge in 2010 with Diana's iconic 12-carat sapphire engagement ring. Kate has also worn one of Diana's most famous tiaras, the Cambridge Lover's Knot, on a number of occasions. The Duchess last wore the sparkling pearl heirloom in October 2018:

Harry and Meghan made their glamorous appearance tonight to benefit a good cause. This performance of Cirque du Soleil's newest show, Totem, is raising funds and awareness for Sentebale, the charity co-founded by Prince Harry in 2006. Harry is also a royal patron of the organization, which helps young people affected by HIV in Lesotho and Botswana. Tonight's event rounds out a busy week for Harry and Meghan-the royals visited Birkenhead on Monday, and earlier today Meghan attended her first public event at Mayhew, one of her new patronages.
