Meghan Markle Releases Statement on Thomas Markle
Just two days before her royal wedding to Prince Harry, Meghan Markle has released a personal statement confirming that her father Thomas Markle Sr. will not be walking her down the aisle.
"Sadly, my father will not be attending our wedding," she wrote in the statement, provided by Kensington Palace. "I have always cared for my father and hope he can be given the space he needs to focus on his health."
She continued, "I would like to thank everyone who has offered generous messages of support. Please know how much Harry and I look forward to sharing our special day with you on Saturday."

Meghan's statement comes after news that Thomas Markle underwent heart surgery on Wednesday May 16. Neither Meghan nor the palace have confirmed who will walk her down the aisle in her father's place.
