The Duchess of Sussex hired a top photographer for a family photoshoot with her rarely seen children, according to reports.

Jake Rosenberg, a New York-based photographer, is said to have flown to California in March to take pictures of Prince Archie and his sister Princess Lilibet.

Mr Rosenberg also took some photographs of the Duchess with her children at her home in Montecito, and a few shots of Meghan on her own while she was cooking in the kitchen, according to the Daily Mail.

The photoshoot coincided with the launch of the Duchess’s lifestyle and cookery brand, American Riviera Orchard. Her latest venture was unveiled last week in an Instagram post where she could be seen cooking in a kitchen.

The brand will sell home, garden, food and lifestyle products.

Mr Rosenberg has photographed the Duchess several times. His website claims “his lens has captured the radiance of talent such as Meghan Markle, Oprah Winfrey, Priyanka Chopra, Cindy Crawford, David Beckham, and Michael B. Jordan, unveiling their authentic personas through his vibrant imagery”.

There have been very few photographs of Prince Archie, four, and Princess Lilibet, two, issued by their parents. But the siblings were featured in Netflix’s documentary about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

A friend of Meghan told the Daily Mail the photoshoot did take place but claimed they were “portraits for the family” and “not connected to the business”.

It comes after the Duke and Duchess’s profiles were shortened on the Royal family’s website. Their joint page now begins with the statement announcing their departure from being working royals in January 2020.

Lengthy individual profiles that previously spanned several pages have been condensed into one single page. Those seeking further information about the couple are directed to their new and personal website, Sussex.com.

Buckingham Palace sources claimed the changes, made on Monday, were part of a “routine website update” and were unrelated to the couple’s brand development.

Mr Rosenberg was contacted for comment.
