Just when you think you know everything there is to know about the Royal Family, they surprise you. While there's a lot to be said about the strict rules the family follows, there's also an incredible attention to detail that goes into their life.

For example, every gift they receive, from a box of fruit jellies to a toy for Prince George, is meticulously recorded and then published on the official royal website for anyone to see. If you're prone to falling into Internet holes, this one's a doozy.

It's through these well-kept lists that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's first official engagement present was revealed. On November 29, two days after Prince Harry and Markle announced their engagement, Prince William went to Finland for an official visit, where he accepted an apron on behalf of the newly engaged couple. He also took the opportunity to tease Harry about his eating habits, like all good brothers do.

While there aren't any other details available on what the apron looked like, it's a very fitting gift given that Harry famously proposed while the two were at home roasting chicken. Major props to whatever fast-thinking individual scooped up that gift.

Along with the gift lists, there's also a set of rules involving the receiving of gifts that's available to the public. In case you're wondering what you can gift the happy couple, the Royal Family can accept the following gifts from "individuals not personally known to the member of the Royal Family:"

  • Flowers, foodstuffs, and other consumable items

  • Copies of books presented by the author

  • Items of small monetary value, defined as costing under £150 (around $208)

So, at least we know the apron cost less than two hundred bucks. On the same trip, Prince William brought back a bottle of gin, an ice hockey jersey, a Finnish flag, and two fabric gnomes. The life of the royals!
