Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, Wears Givenchy for First Royal Ascot
Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, is embracing her life as a royal with grace and style. She took her first solo trip with Her Majesty last week to Cheshire in a chic travel look by Givenchy and attended the wedding of Celia McCorquodale (a cousin of the prince) over this weekend, stepping out in a whimsical printed shirtdress from Oscar de la Renta. Today marked another first for the new duchess, as she traveled with Prince Harry and the Count and Countess of Wessex to the opening day of the Royal Ascot horse races, dressed in a vintage-inspired shirtdress, also by Clare Waight Keller for Givenchy.
Waight Keller famously designed the duchess’ wedding dress and is rapidly becoming the go-to clothier of the American-born royal. Today’s ensemble featured a delicate floral motif and was cinched at the waist with a thin belt. A tonally coordinated box clutch and sensible heels were a nice complement to the crowning accessory: a Philip Treacy hat. After all, dressing for the races starts from the top down.
