Meet the 2015 Showhouse Team!

The Community Cinnamon Shore
Nestled behind 300 feet of protective dunes on Mustang Island, Texas, Cinnamon Shore is home to our 2015 Showhouse. This New Urbanism community is a favorite getaway spot for residents of Houston and Austin, providing locals and visitors with a simpler way of life.

This unique neighborhood and vacation rental development, designed by Schnell Urban Design, is currently 60 percent built out, providing residents with pools, restaurants, shops, a village green, and more.

The Designer Bailey McCarthy of Biscuit Home
In addition to being the voice behind the lifestyle blog Peppermint Bliss, Bailey McCarthy is also an interior designer and owner of Biscuit home décor. Based in Houston and a member of the Coastal Living/Southern Living Designer Network, McCarthy’s Biscuit line has expanded from quality printed bedding to beach house-worthy accessories for the entire home. McCarthy’s work is upbeat and slightly tongue-in-cheek, without forgoing a traditional sensibility.

The Builder Premier Coastal Homes, Inc./Waggoner Contracting
Premier Coastal Homes, Inc., owned and operated by Steve McLaughlin, is based in Ingleside, Texas. McLaughlin has a remarkable attention to detail in the planning and building process that guides his clients’ interests from start to finish. With a 20-year naval career under his belt, he understands how to deliver beyond expectations. McLaughlin has built 16 homes and counting in the Cinnamon Shore development, making him a go-to expert on community construction standards.

The Architect Kissling Architecture, Inc.
Founded by James Kissling in 2000, the Kissling Architecture, Inc. portfolio highlights their focus on collaboration between the client and the architect. With cost, design, energy efficiency, sustainability, and function as the goals for each project, the result of Kissling’s philosophy produces timeless architecture. The design-driven firm is composed of an experienced and creative team based in Bulverde, Texas. At the core is a respect for tradition and an ability to synthesize ideas in a contemporary way.

The firm has an in-depth understanding of the structural requirements and design aesthetic of the coast, making the 2015 Coastal Living Showhouse a true passion project for the preferred architects of the Cinnamon Shore community.
