Median home price in San Diego County hit $980K last month
SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — The median price for single-family homes sold in San Diego County was 5.9% higher in February than in January, according to a new report by the California Association of Realtors.
San Diego placed second for Southern California counties with the highest median price of single-family homes sold last month at $980,000. That’s an increase of $55,000 from January’s, when the median sales price in the county was $925,000.
In February of last year, the median home sales price in San Diego was $878,000. Later, in August, the median home price hit $1 million.

According to CAR, February’s sales pace statewide jumped 12.8% higher than January’s, suggesting a better season for homebuying this spring than the same time last year.
However, as the home supply increases to meet demand, so do the median sales prices seen across the state.
Orange County had the highest median price for homes sold last month in Southern California at a whopping $1.35 million.
Meanwhile, the median prices for homes sold in other Southern California counties like Imperial, Los Angeles and San Bernardino dropped in February from the month prior.

Homes in Imperial County dropped from a median sales price of $380,000 to $355,000 and the Los Angeles County median sales price dropped from $833,000 to $817,100. San Bernardino saw a small drop — from $477,500 to $477,070.
The San Francisco Bay Area remains the most expensive area to live in within the state of California. The median sales price last month rose 14.2 percent from January to nearly $1.26 million.
