Coffee lovers, this one is for you: McDonald's is testing three new coffee drinks in the Sacramento, Stockton, and Modesto area of Northern California. As Brand Eating reports, the new drinks will round out McDonald's espresso-based drink menu. More importantly, though, the new coffee menu will better compete with the menus at Starbucks and Dunkin' Donuts.

The Caramel Macchiato features espresso and caramel-flavored syrup, layered with steamed milk and topped with a caramel drizzle. You can order this drink hot or iced. The French Vanilla Cappuccino is made with espresso, steamed milk, and vanilla-flavored syrup, and is topped with a layer of creamy foam. The last new drink, The Americano, consists of espresso and hot water.

Additionally, during the week of March 20 to 26, restaurants participating in the test will be offering a small cup of any of the new drinks for $1 each. For those of us unlucky enough not to live in California, we'll just have to wait until the drinks (hopefully) go nationwide.
