Marks & Spencer has finally launched its much-anticipated online food delivery service which hopes to have dinner served to customers' front doors within an hour.

Trials have begun in its Camden store, where shoppers have the option of selecting a range of ready meals and pizzas, which will be delivered within an hour. However, if customers want to add groceries to their baskets, arrival time is bumped up to two hours, reports The Guardian.

Marks & Spencer in Reading is running a collection-only service, where customers can pick up their food within two hours from ordering.

To use the services at either store, you need to be a member of the M&S Sparks loyalty scheme and spend a minimum of £10, though delivery is free.

An M&S spokesman said, "We have started two small food online trials with selected Sparks members as we explore what works for our customers."

News of M&S launching online food delivery was first broken in April, when the brand announced it was considering a "soft trial in the autumn".
