Maritime Museum offers free admission to military families on Armed Forces Day
People serving in the military and up to five of their family members can get free admission to the Columbia River Maritime Museum in Astoria on Armed Forces Day on Saturday as part of the Blue Star Museums program.
The program is a collaboration of the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, the U.S. Department of Defense and museums across the country.
Admission is also free at the participating museums on Labor Day.
The Maritime Museum already provides free admission for active-duty military, but the museum participates in the Blue Star Museums program as a way to thank military families.
