LANSING — A man is recovering at a local hospital after a shooting Sunday evening.

Police went to the 200 block of West Barnes Avenue for a shots fired call about 7:45 p.m. Sunday and found multiple vehicles that had been struck by bullets, Lansing police spokeswoman Jordan Gulkis said.

Officers were later dispatched to a local hospital for a report of a man who walked in with a gunshot wound in apparent connection with the earlier incident.

The man, 24, suffered non-life-threatening injuries, Gulkis said. His hometown was not released.

An investigation into the incident is continuing.

Earlier Sunday, a man was killed in Lansing after a fight with a group of people. His body was later found by police at another location, marking the city’s sixth homicide of the year, all since April 1.

Police said multiple suspects are in custody in connection with that incident.
