Man, woman killed in head-on crash in St. Bernard Parish

CHALMETTE, La. (WGNO) — Troopers with the Louisiana State Police are investigating a crash that left a man and woman dead in Chalmette on Sunday, May 5.

The LSP reported the crash happened on Louisiana 46 at Jacob Drive around 2 a.m.

They said an initial investigation shows 38-year-old Brandon Harvey was driving an Acura east on Louisiana 46 while 23-year-old Haziel Valle was driving west.

According to the LSP, the GMC crossed the center turn lane and hit the Acura head-on.

Harvey and his passenger, identified by the LSP as 37-year-old Crystal Williamson, suffered fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene.

Valle suffered serious injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.

LSP officials said the investigation is ongoing, and routine toxicology samples were collected.
