Man wanted in Florida shooting found by police folded in dryer, 'tumble-ready hideout'

A 31-year-old man wanted in connection to a southwest Florida shooting this spring was found “folded, not so neatly” inside a dryer, officials said.

David Jerome Jackson had been on the lam after the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office reported officials identified him as a suspect in connection to a March 15 shooting in Pensacola.

The coastal city is in the northwestern most tip of the Sunshine state, near the Alabama border, about 55 miles southeast of Mobile, Alabama.

The home where deputies discovered the suspect is in a neighborhood about four miles southwest of downtown Pensacola.

When deputies received a tip about his possible whereabouts, they visited a home in west Pensacola to serve a search warrant, the agency wrote in a news release.
