Man stabbed near North County 7-Eleven

OCEANSIDE, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) — A man was sent to the hospital Friday after being stabbed by an unknown suspect near a 7-Eleven in Oceanside, authorities said.

The local police department told FOX 5/KUSI that a call came in reporting the stabbing around 1 a.m. First responders located the victim near a convenience store on Frazee Road at the 76 freeway.

He appeared to be suffering from a stab wound to his shoulder, police said. The man was transported to Palomar Hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

According to Oceanside Police, the stabbing may have been a result of a robbery, however, that has not been confirmed at this time.

Officers searched the area, but no suspect was found. An investigation into the stabbing remains ongoing. Anyone with information related to this incident is encouraged to call Crime Stoppers at (619) 235-8477.
