UPDATE: Man turns himself in after stabbing at Dollar General

UPDATE: Thursday, April 11, 2024 @ 1:45 PM | PRINCETON, WV (WVNS) — A man turned himself into the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office after a stabbing at a Dollar General.

According to Lieutenant Steven Sommers, Tevas Jermaine Hill, 46, of Princeton, turned himself in on Thursday, April 11, 2024, after a Malicious Assault warrant was issued.

PRINCETON, WV (WVNS) — A man was stabbed during a fight at a Mercer County Dollar General store on Wednesday.

According to a press release from the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office, two adult males were reportedly fighting in the parking lot of the Dollar General store on Athens Road. As the fight continued, one of the men stabbed the other.

The suspect left the scene while the victim waited for first responders. The victim was taken to Princeton Community Hospital by members of the Princeton Rescue Squad before he was transported to Carillion Hospital to be treated further.

While the suspect remains at-large, the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office believes the stabbing was an isolated incident and there is no immediate threat to residents.

The names of both the victim and suspect will not be released at this time.
