Man stabbed in chest in Winston-Salem, taken to hospital in critical condition, police say; 2 arrested

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (WGHP) — Two people were arrested in connection to two separate stabbings on Tuesday, according to a Winston-Salem Police Department news release.

Around 8:56 a.m., officers responded to a reported stabbing on North Liberty Street. Arriving officers found a 38-year-old Greensboro man who had been stabbed in the chest.

He was taken to a hospital where he is currently in critical condition.

Investigators say the victim was involved in a verbal altercation with two people when one person stabbed him before leaving in a Chevrolet Tahoe.

Around 9:13 a.m., officers responded to a reported stabbing on North Patterson Avenue.

Arriving officers found a 26-year-old Kernersville man with a non-life-threatening stab wound.

Investigators say the man was walking in the area when a person ran up and attacked him before driving off in a Chevrolet Tahoe.

Investigators used video evidence from Liberty Street and Patterson Avenue to connect the two incidents.

The Chevrolet Tahoe was found at Northwest Boulevard and Marshall Street with two people inside.

Officers conducted a traffic stop, and Jeffrey Hugo Silva, 30, of Winston-Salem, and 27-year-old Oscar Daniel Noyola-Lopez were arrested in connection with both of the stabbings.

Police say this does not appear to be a random act of violence.

Noyola was charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon with the Intent to kill/inflict serious injury and misdemeanor going armed to the terror of the public.

Silva was charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill/inflict serious injury and felony accessory after the fact.

Both received no bond allowed.
