WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said a man was shot near a Northeast D.C. convenience store Thursday afternoon.

The shooting happened near the Circle 7 Express convenience store at 740 Kenilworth Ave.
MPD said officers found a man who was conscious and breathing.
