Man sentenced for raping 70-year-old woman in Rockville hotel

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — A man from Rockville was sentenced Monday after he was found guilty for raping a 70-year-old woman in a hotel.

Arash Khosh, 46, was sentenced to life in prison, suspended all but 50 years, along with five years of supervised probation after he is released. He will also need to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.

The situation happened at the Hilton Garden Inn, located in the 14000 block of Shady Grove Road in Rockville, on May 15, 2022. Khosh forced his way into the woman’s hotel room and sexually assaulted her.

The woman’s husband was on the first floor of the hotel having coffee while he was waiting for her to meet him for breakfast. According to the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office, the woman and Khosh knew each other.

A jury convicted Khosh on Feb. 15 for first-degree rape, home invasion and second-degree sexual assault.
