Police say 19-year-old Jessie Gunter was driving a Kia Sorento eastbound on Murdock at a high rate of speed when he lost control of his car, crossed the center line and collided with a westbound Ford Escape. He was charged with involuntary manslaughter and seven counts of aggravated battery.

Though Gunter had accepted a plea agreement, Judge Eric Williams sentenced him Friday to 64 months (5 years and 4 months) in prison and ordered him to pay a total of $50,000 in restitution to two of his victims.
