Man who robbed 4 Tampa businesses at gunpoint facing 100 years in prison

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A man responsible for multiple armed robberies in Tampa is facing life behind bars after he was convicted in federal court Tuesday, according to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office.

Richard Allen Randolph, 44, committed four armed robberies of Tampa businesses in 2020.

During a traffic stop by Collier County deputies in July 2021, another individual was found with a Beretta Pico pistol in their car. That pistol was revealed through forensics to be the same one used by Randolph in the armed robberies.

Deputies learned the individual purchased the gun from Randolph, eventually leading to his arrest for the armed robberies.

Randolph faces a minimum penalty of 100 years in federal prison. His sentencing is set for July 30.
