Man killed in 2-vehicle crash in Symmes Township, sheriff's office says

One person has died following a crash in Symmes Township on Friday night, according to the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office.

The wreck happened at the intersection of Loveland Madeira Road and the on/off ramps of Interstate 275, a sheriff's office spokesperson said in a news release.

The 68-year-old driver of a 2020 Cadillac CTS tried to turn left onto I-275 and collided with John Rugh, 38, who was southbound on Loveland Madeira Road in a 2002 Ford GT40 kit car.

As a result of the crash, Rugh became entrapped in his vehicle and had to be mechanically extracted by the Loveland Symmes Fire Department, the sheriff's office said. He was pronounced dead at Bethesda North Hospital.

The other driver was also taken to Bethesda North for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
