Man injured in drive-by shooting while walking in Joliet

JOLIET, Ill. — Joliet police are investigating after a man was injured in a drive-by shooting while he was walking early Thursday morning.

Joliet Police Department officers were called to investigate shots fired around 12:45 a.m. near Water Street and Munroe Streets.

Officers arrived and found a 21-year-old man who was walking with a woman when he was shot, according to a news release from police.

He was taken to a hospital with a non-life-threatening injury, police said.

During their investigation, it is believed the man was shot by someone in a dark-colored sedan in the area.
