Man injured after being ‘robbed and shot’ in Lufkin

LUFKIN, Texas (KETK) – Officials are investigating after an overnight shooting in Lufkin that left a man injured.

According to police, officers responded to a report of a man with a gunshot wound to the head around 10:20 p.m. in the 100 block of West Laurel Avenue after the man had sought help from a neighbor.

“The man told officers he had been robbed and shot by a man that he knew but he didn’t know the suspect’s name,” officials said.

The man was flown to an out-of-town hospital where he remained in stable condition, according to authorities, and the incident is under investigation.
