Man hospitalized after stabbing in Battle Creek

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WOOD) — A 32-year-old is in the hospital after an early Saturday morning stabbing in Battle Creek.

Around 1:30 a.m., officers with the Battle Creek Police Department were sent to the area of Richards Place and Capital Avenue SW after receiving a report about a home invasion and stabbing.

Responding officers found a 32-year-old man in a neighboring driveway with an apparent stab wound to the right side of his chest. He was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Inside the home, officers found a 41-year-old man. The man told officers that he was inside his home when his neighbor came to the front porch and began yelling. When he looked up, he saw that the man had come into the home. There was a fight and the neighbor was stabbed once.

The stabbing remains under investigation.
