Man from Gallup sentenced for sexual abuse of minors

GALLUP, N.M. (KRQE) – A Gallup local received a prison sentence of 10 years after pleading guilty to illegal sexual contact with two minors in incidents that occurred over a decade ago.

The man, 30-year-old Lanthem Eskeets, admitted to contact with two victims between August 2012 and August 2013. One victim was between the ages of 12 and 16. The other was under the age of 12, according to the plea agreement filed in federal court.

The incidents took place on the Navajo Nation. After serving time in prison, Eskeets will be under supervision for 10 years, the U.S. Department of Justice says. Eskeets will also have to register as a sex offender.
