Man found shot to death in Anaheim liquor store parking lot

Authorities in Anaheim are looking into what led to the shooting death of a man outside a liquor store.

According to a media release from the Anaheim Police Department, the man – identified by police as 38-year-old Anaheim resident Jesse Barragan – was discovered unresponsive outside a liquor store in the 900 block of South Anaheim Boulevard around 7 p.m. Friday.

Barragan had been shot at least once, Anaheim police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives believe the shooting was gang related. No description of a suspect or suspects was immediately released, and the investigation remains ongoing.
