Man found guilty of stabbing man in the neck in Topeka

TOPEKA (KSNT) – A Shawnee County jury found a man guilty in relation to a 2020 stabbing incident in Topeka.

Today, Nicholas Thomas, 38, was found guilty on one count of aggravated battery knowingly causing great bodily harm after a 3-day trial, according to the District Attorney’s Office.

On Saturday, June 6th, 2020, the victim was sitting in their car at the Comfort Suites Hotel at 6213 SW 10th St when Thomas stabbed him in the neck by reaching through the victim’s car window.

According to the Office of the District Attorney, Thomas didn’t know the victim.

At 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 18, Thomas will have a criminal assignment docket. Sentencing will be scheduled from the docket.
