LARGO, Fla. (WFLA) — Sage Curry, 22, who was charged for murdering two women while they slept in their Largo home in April 2021, has been found guilty, according to court documents.

Curry will spend life in prison without possibility of parole, the maximum sentence after the prosecution did not pursue the death penalty.

Largo police arrested Curry a few days after the murders, saying Curry, who was 19 at the time, followed Zhaneta Dindi, 78, and Hera Dindi, 17, home one night before crawling through their window and stabbing them to death.

Police said the incident was believed to be random and Curry had no known relationship with the victims.

Curry told police he entered the home and killed one of the women in her sleep, stabbing her multiple times in the chest. When the second victim came into the room to defend her, Curry turned the knife on her, stabbing her in the face and neck.

Curry’s public defender said in April 2021 the defense would pursue an insanity defense, which the jury rejected.
