Man faces drug, gun charges after investigation, Baton Rouge police say

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — A man was arrested after an investigation by the Baton Rouge Police Department.

Detectives with BPRD along with Special Agents of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives started an investigation in early March, according to BRPD.

On Thursday, April 18, BRPD detectives and ATF agents conducted a search warrant at a home located in the 2000 block of Maryland Street. A search and seizure led to the arrest of Donnie Aucoin, 56, according to BRPD.

The police department said the following items were seized:

  • 120 grams of suspected fentanyl.

  • 105 grams of cocaine.

  • 12 dosage units of Hydrocodone.

  • Nine grams of heroin.

  • One Ruger .45 caliber (stolen through Iberville Sheriff’s Office).

  • One Colt .38 revolver.

  • One Ruger .22 revolver.

  • $10,000.

Accused Baton Rouge drug dealer charged after traffic stop

Aucoin was arrested and booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison. Aucoin faces charges of two counts of distribution of schedule II drugs (fentanyl), two counts of possession of a firearm with CDS, possession of a schedule I drug (heroin), distribution of a schedule II drug (cocaine), possession of a schedule II drug (hydrocodone) and possession of a stolen firearm.
