Man dead after single-vehicle crash involving motorcycle in West El Paso

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – A 26-year-old man is dead following a single-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle Tuesday evening, April 30 in West El Paso, according to the El Paso Police Department (EPPD).

Preliminary investigations revealed that Julian Santana, 26, was traveling northbound on 4100 N. Mesa on the outside lane at a high rate of speed, according to EPPD.

EPPD says Santana failed to negotiate the curve and went off the roadway. The motorcycle then struck a bench and at this time, it is believed that Santana became dislodge from his motorcycle.

Santana sustained serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital where he later died, according to EPPD.

EPPD says the main contributing factor in this collision is believed to be speed. This is the 20th traffic fatality compared to 21 at this time last year.
