Man critically injured after shooting at Nashville apartment complex

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Police are investigating after a man was critically injured following a shooting at an apartment complex in the Bellshire area.

According to the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD), the shooting happened shortly before 3 a.m. on Tuesday, May 7 in the 3300 block of Creekwood Drive.

Authorities reported the incident began as brief altercation with a group of people, but the individuals left the scene.

A man, believed to be in his 20s, later opened his front door and was shot by a male suspect who fled the scene in an unknown vehicle, police said.

According to MNPD, there were two females who came to the apartment complex with the suspect, but they were unable to leave because their vehicle ran out of gas.

Meanwhile, the victim was reportedly taken to Skyline Hospital in critical condition.

The motive of the shooting remains unknown and no arrests have been made at this time.
