Man charged with vehicular homicide, DUI in Bristol, TN crash

BRISTOL, Tenn. (WJHL) – A man has been arrested in connection to a fatal crash in Bristol, Tennessee that occurred in February.

Travis Jackson, of Bristol, Tennessee, faces several charges in connection to the crash, which occurred on Highway 394 on Feb. 16. The two-vehicle crash took place shortly after 7 p.m. at the intersection with Feathers Chapel Road, police previously reported.

Witnesses sought in Bristol, Tenn. fatal crash investigation

According to the Bristol Tennessee Police Department (BTPD), 35-year-old Ginger Irick was flown to the Johnson City Medical Center after the crash, where she was pronounced dead. The BTPD stated in February that the other driver and a passenger in the other vehicle were each taken to another hospital for treatment.

According to the Bristol Tennessee Police Department (BTPD), Travis Jackson was arrested Thursday and charged with the following:

  • Vehicular homicide

  • Criminally negligent homicide

  • 2 counts of reckless aggravated assault

  • Vehicular assault

  • DUI with BAC over .08%

  • Violation of open container

  • Failure to drive on the right side of the road

The BTPD stated in a news release that as of Friday, Jackson was being held in the Sullivan County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
