Jackson County prosecutors on Saturday charged Tyron Lee Sims with second-degree murder and armed criminal action.

When officers arrived on scene they determined a shooting had occurred and found a man unresponsive. He was pronounced dead on scene and later identified as Willie Spencer.

Court documents say the victim was shot two times.

When interviewed by detectives, Sims first denied having shot Spencer or having a reason to shoot him but would later explain that the victim had stolen from him specifically and raped associates of his, according to court documents.
