Man attempts to kidnap 15-year-old girl at bus stop in Portage Park: police

CHICAGO — Police have issued a community alert after an attempted kidnapping in the city’s Portage Park neighborhood.

According to the alert, a 15-year-old girl was waiting at a bus stop in the 3600 block of North Central Avenue around 8:19 a.m. on April 18, when a man approached her and demanded that she get into his vehicle. He then threatened to grab her and put her inside the car.

Police said a woman intervened and told the man to leave the teen alone, to which the man stated that he knew the 15-year-old. He then continued driving southbound on Central Avenue.

The man is described to be between 28 and 30-years-old with a goatee and brown hair. He was driving a mid-90s yellow corvette with a black convertible top.
