Shots fired incident at Williamsburg Hooters; suspect arrested

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (WAVY) – A man has been arrested in connection with a shots fired incident at a Hooters in Williamsburg.

According to officials, deputies with the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office responded to a shots fired incident at the Hooter’s Restaurant located on 112 Bypass Road around 8:40 p.m. April 17.

Deputies arrived to the scene and found several shell casings throughout the parking lot. The suspect fled the scene before deputies arrived.

After an investigation, deputies arrested 40-year-old Demont L. White on April 24 in connection with the incident.

White is currently being held at the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail and is charged with discharging a firearm in a public place, reckless handling of a firearm, concealed handgun violation and brandishing a firearm.
