Man arrested in connection with road rage shooting on Route 10

SMITHFIELD, Va. (WAVY) – A Chesapeake man has been arrested in connection with a road rage incident on Wednesday.

According to officials, Smithfield police responded on May 1 to a road rage incident which occurred on Route 10.

Police said the passenger of the suspect vehicle, 39-year-old Michael Robinson, was seen shooting while passing the victim’s car by the victim’s in-car camera. The video led to the issuance of a BOLO for the suspect vehicle.

The vehicle was pulled over by the Suffolk Police Department during a traffic stop, where officers were able to locate the firearm used in the incident.

Robinson was then arrested and charged with multiple felony offenses related to the shooting. He is currently being held without bond.
