Armed carjacking at Home Depot in Norfolk; suspect arrested

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY)– A man was arrested in connection with an armed carjacking Monday, April 8 in Norfolk.

Officers were called to the Home Depot in the 1200 block of N. Military Highway at 1:10 p.m. for the report of a carjacking. According to police, it was reported that a man with a firearm approached a person and took their vehicle.

Norfolk Police later located the stolen vehicle in the city of Virginia Beach.

After investigating, detectives arrested and charged 35-year-old Cameron T. Lake, around 4:10 p.m. in the city of Chesapeake.

He is currently being held in Norfolk City Jail without bond.
